Since the launch of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a colorful mix of personalities, and a thrilling plot featuring angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of this adventure are included.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The third episode finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features Teor (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie).
The Reason for Division
With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who are drawn to a typically action-packed fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the hesitant healer the cleric might look out of place, but the developments of the latest installment show why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a violent opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his own means, entering the hidden lair, striking Thimble, and stealing all the magical artifacts to sell off.
The antagonist then settled his obligations and fled to a secure base in the remote area, north of the city, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each member has a personal reason to leave the city Dol-Makjar:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to eliminate the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- But, their position as important members in the influential clan could assist the group enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The fighter pledged a eternal obligation to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Lastly, all of them are sought by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making remaining behind no longer safe:
- The rogue and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them few options but to journey toward Timmony in quest for Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
According to episode three’s follow-up content, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Explorers and Schemers tables.
Viewers can anticipate finding out which players will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on October 24.
